Financials
The Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011 created two separate legal entities, known as corporations sole; The Police & Crime Commissioner for Sussex and The Chief Constable of Sussex.
The PCC is responsible for:
- The finances of the whole Group;
- Receiving all income and funding;
- Making all payments for the Group from the overall Police Fund; and
- Control of all assets, liabilities and reserves.
The Chief Constable of Sussex fulfils functions under the Act within an annual budget set by the Police & Crime Commissioner for Sussex in consultation with the Chief Constable.
The PCC has appointed a Chief Finance Officer to be responsible for the proper administration of the Commissioner’s financial affairs.
