006/2017 Community Safety Grant Funding

The Police & Crime Commissioner has agreed to passport the grant received relating to Community Safety funding to relevant parties at the same levels that they received in 2016/17.

The community safety funding forms part of the main police grant.  Under the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011 the Police & Crime Commissioner holds the budget for the Community Safety grant allocation.  There is not a rigid framework for the allocation of the grant across the whole of Sussex as the budget has been previously allocated to top tier authorities.

Despite continuing budgetary pressures, the Commissioner has decided that the allocations for Community Safety Partnerships (CSPs) should be maintained at the same level as 2016/17.   This allocation has been maintained for five years since 2012/13.

The total grant will be for a total of 1,399.293. Out of this Brighton & Hove will receive £327,892. East Sussex will receive £505,079 & West Sussex will receive £566,322.
