014/2017 Video Enabled Justice Implementation route to Procurement
A recommendation to use the Digital Outcomes & Specialists (DOS) to identify a business partner who will implement the Video Enabled Justice Programme of work has been approved by the Police & Crime Commissioner.
In 2015 the Sussex Criminal Justice Board successfully bid for Home Office Police Innovation Funding to design and implement a digital justice programme of change. A partnership is in place between the Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner (SPCC) and the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC), Sussex Police, the Metropolitan Police Service, Kent Police, and Surrey Police as well as other agencies includ Her Majesty’s Courts and Tribunal Service (HMCTS), the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), National Offender Management Service (NOMS), NHS, Citizens Advice Bureau, Legal Aid Agency (LAA), the Defence community and the Ministry of Justice (MOJ).
Following consideration of eight possible procurement channels for Video Enabled Justice, DOS was suggested as a preferred option given that Video Enabled Justice is a new digital service; it’s scope aligns more closely with DOS.
