Lifecentre - 'No More' Awareness Week

‘No More’ is an annual week dedicated to raising awareness about domestic abuse and sexual violence.

Across Sussex, PCC Katy Bourne funds a range of high-quality services including some specifically designed to offer support to those who are victims of sexual violence and domestic abuse, helping them to speak out about their experience. This includes Lifecentre.

Lifecentre’s ethos is: “Your story is unique. Your story was unchosen. But you needn’t face it alone.”, and they offer a safe space for survivors of unwanted sexual experiences to heal through trauma-informed therapy and specialist support.

Survivors can access support through various approaches available, dependent on their situation:

• Free and confidential support for people of all ages and genders
• Trauma-informed therapy for adults and young people
• Play therapy for children and young people
• Specialist services including art therapy, trauma-informed mind and body regulation classes, parent and carer support groups, psychoeducation support groups and more

During the financial period April 2023- 24, Lifecentre delivered 4,908 trauma-informed therapy sessions, supporting 752 survivors.
