Home Office - Consultation on Reform of Police Integrity

The Home Office sought views on proposed changes to the police complaints and discipline system.

These proposals would give Police & Crime Commissioners a much stronger role in the police complaints system, and would look to implement many of the recommendations of the Chapman review of police discipline.

There are also some proposals about strengthening protections for whistleblowers, and further proposals about reviewing the role of the IPCC to align it to wider changes proposed in the announcement and strengthen elements of its remit.
